Hello, Let us Introduce Ourselves
Joey Misiaszek
My name is Joey, and I have been an NYU Spiritual Life Advisor and staff members of the Navigators since 2022. I first encountered Jesus’ power and read the Bible as a student at the University of Arizona. After graduating with a degree in Architectural Engineering, I married my best friend Deborah, and moved with her to New York City to serve with the Navigators. Currently, I work to facilitate community and mentor students who want to explore Christianity or deepen their faith. I also like reading, painting, and exploring the beauty of the five boroughs on long walks.
“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, ‘Abba! Father’!” Romans 8:15 (ESV).
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10 (ESV).
Deborah Misiaszek
Hey, I’m Deborah, and I was a Spiritual Life Advisor at NYU and Navigators staff member from 2022 to 2025; and now I’m working towards a Civil Engineering M.S. degree at Columbia University. I also grew up in Arizona, met Joey in class at the University of Arizona, and moved to New York City shortly after graduating. College was full of instances where God showed Himself to me in amazing ways! I’m grateful for the community that encouraged me to be loved by Jesus and trust Him with my life. Today, I get to coach the Navigators ministry at NYU and mentor younger women who want to know Jesus more deeply. In my spare time, I love to cook and crochet.
“Your words were found, wand I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 (ESV).
“For thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on ya day of clouds and thick darkness’.” Ezekiel 34:11-12 (ESV).
